Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Onorware LLC (“Onorware”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information. It covers our website, onorware.com, and our software: the Serene plugin, Serene Voice, Serene Assistant and the background service they use (together, “Serene”). Serene’s AI runs on your computer, and your audio and sessions stay there. Serene contacts us or our service providers only in the cases described below.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us on the website
- Sign-up forms. When you sign up through a form on our website, for example to join a waitlist or apply to test Serene, we collect what you enter: your first name and email address, your platform, DAW, experience level and track count, and anything optional you add, such as the plugins you use, what frustrates you about mixing, or a link to your work.
- Emails you send us: your email address and what you write.
Information collected automatically on the website
- When you submit a form: your browser’s user-agent string, the country your connection comes from, and the time of submission.
- Bot protection and abuse limits: your IP address is used briefly to check that you are a person and to limit how many reports one connection can send, and we don’t store it.
- If you accept analytics cookies: usage information collected by Google Analytics (section 4).
Information from Serene
- License activation. When you press Activate or Deactivate, Serene sends our licensing provider your license key, your Mac’s hardware identifier, and your Mac’s model name, for example “MacBook Pro · Apple M4 Pro · 48 GB”. Your IP address is visible to the provider when Serene connects. Serene doesn’t send your computer’s name or your user name. After activation, Serene works without going online.
- Issue and crash reports. These are sent only after you review the report and press Send. A report includes your description, the report type, which app and DAW it concerns, the Serene version, your macOS version and processor, the modules in use, how many Serene instances are open, whether the background service is running, and the last part of the plugin’s log. The log can include the text of your AI requests and replies. Before sending, Serene replaces your user name and home folder in the log, and removes license keys. When a report arrives, we also record your browser’s user-agent string and the country your connection comes from.
- Voice commands. Serene Voice uses Apple’s speech recognition. Where your Mac supports it, recognition happens on the device. Otherwise macOS sends the command audio to Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy. Serene doesn’t save voice audio.
Information that stays on your computer
Serene keeps these on your Mac and never sends them to us: your audio; your chat with Serene and your notes, which are saved in your DAW project file and travel with it if you share the project; a record of your mixing decisions, used so Serene learns your taste (on by default, and you can turn it off or clear it in Settings); and log files. Serene Assistant keeps a short buffer of system audio in memory, and deletes captured clips when it quits, or the next time it opens if it didn’t close normally.
2. How we use information
We use it to respond to your sign-up and contact you about it; to provide and manage licenses, including limiting a license to two computers; to investigate and fix problems you report; to reply to you; to understand how the website is used, so we can improve it; and to protect our services from abuse. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
3. How we share information
We share information with service providers who process it for us:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, storage of form submissions and reports, email delivery, bot protection |
| Our team email inbox, which receives your emails, sign-ups and report notices; website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies | |
| Keygen | License activation |
| GitHub | Tracking issue and crash reports, in a private repository |
| Apple | Voice recognition, only when on-device recognition is unavailable |
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, but only if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until you do, and if you choose “Reject optional”, the website doesn’t load anything from Google. You can change your choice at any time with , also at the bottom of every page. Rejecting deletes Google Analytics cookies. We never send your name or email address to Google Analytics, and we don’t use advertising or remarketing features. We store your cookie choice in your browser so the banner doesn’t reappear.
Do Not Track. The website doesn’t respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
5. Data retention
- Sign-up form entries: until we no longer need them for what you signed up for, and at most two years.
- Issue and crash reports: until the problem is resolved, and at most two years.
- Emails: as long as we need them to help you, then deleted.
- License records: while your license is active, and afterwards as long as we need them for our records.
6. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and storage with established providers. Serene stores your license on your Mac with permissions that only your user account can read. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
8. Your rights and choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to support@onorware.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to or restricting processing, data portability, and complaining to your local data protection authority. Where the law requires a legal basis: we process sign-ups to take steps you asked for, license data to provide your license, and reports because you chose to send them; we set analytics cookies only with your consent.
9. Children
Our website and software aren’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date above, and if a change is significant, we’ll also tell you on the website or in Serene.
